As a parent of four children who are now entering Rochester Community Schools, I am deeply invested in ensuring that every child in our district receives the exceptional education they deserve. Children are the heartbeat of our schools, and it’s our duty to provide them with an enriching, safe learning environment. Transparency is crucial in achieving this, as parents need to know exactly what their children are learning and trust that it aligns with their values. While our district excels in many areas, I believe there are aspects where we’ve lost our way. I’m running for the school board to help steer our schools back in the right direction, ensuring both academic rigor and the transparency that builds confidence among parents, students, and teachers.

My vision is to restore pride and excellence within Rochester Community Schools by developing policies that prioritize our children’s education, foster transparency, and provide teachers with

the competitive wages they deserve. I’m committed to tightening unnecessary spending, reintroducing advanced classes, and making our schools a desirable choice for all families in our community. Transparency isn’t just a policy—it’s the foundation of a safe and trusting learning environment. I believe we need a fresh approach on the board—one that truly collaborates and listens to the concerns of parents, teachers, and students. Together, we can turn things around and make our district a place where every child thrives. 

In Rochester Community Schools, our greatest assets are our students, teachers, and the community that supports them. To provide the world-class education our district was once known for, we must ensure that every resource—financial, educational, and human—is optimized for the greatest impact. By carefully managing our resources, we can create an environment where students receive a top-tier education, teachers are compensated fairly, and the community thrives as a result. When students and parents love their school system, it fosters a sense of unity and pride that extends beyond the classroom and into the broader community. 

Currently, our district faces significant challenges with resource allocation, particularly in how we manage spending. The approval of costly new buildings has strained our budget, making it difficult to address critical needs like teacher salaries and essential academic programs. Additionally, the introduction of new topics that many parents find concerning is diverting time and resources away from core academic subjects. My vision is to reduce unnecessary spending and redirect those funds to where they are truly needed—to enhance the educational experience for students and to ensure our teachers feel valued and supported. By making thoughtful decisions and prioritizing our resources effectively, we can restore Rochester Community Schools to a place of excellence that attracts students, parents, and teachers from near and far.

Teachers are the backbone of our educational system, and their empowerment is essential to creating a thriving learning environment. To truly empower our educators, we must focus on providing them with the resources they need to succeed—starting with professional development and competitive salaries. By investing in our teachers, we not only acknowledge their hard work

but also give them the tools to enhance their skills and knowledge. Moreover, offering higher salaries will attract more qualified educators to our district, leading to smaller class sizes and a more personalized learning experience for each student. 

When teachers feel empowered and valued, they are more likely to remain in the district and bring their best to the classroom every day. Happy, motivated teachers create a positive ripple effect that directly impacts students, leading to a top-notch educational experience where

students can thrive. My vision for Rochester Community Schools is one where teachers love what they do and feel supported in every aspect of their profession. To achieve this, we must

eliminate wasteful spending and allocate our resources more effectively. By doing so, we can increase teacher salaries, reduce class sizes, and create an environment where both teachers and

students flourish.

At the heart of any successful school district is a commitment to academic excellence. In Rochester Community Schools, academics must be our top priority, ensuring that every student

receives a rigorous, well-rounded education that prepares them for the future. We must refocus our efforts on core academic subjects, such as math, science, language arts, and social studies, while also offering advanced placement courses and electives that challenge and engage our students. By prioritizing academics, we can provide our students with the knowledge and skills

they need to excel in college, careers, and beyond.

However, academic success doesn’t happen by chance—it requires a strong foundation built on high expectations, dedicated teachers, and the right resources. We must ensure that our teachers have the support they need to deliver high-quality instruction, and that our classrooms are equipped with the tools necessary for students to succeed. Additionally, we need to involve parents and the community in our efforts to maintain a strong academic focus, creating a collaborative environment where everyone is invested in our students success. By making academics the cornerstone of our district, we can ensure that every child in Rochester

Community Schools has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
